The BBVA Chair in Family Business, promoted by San Telmo Business School, has awarded Franco Furniture one of its annual Family-Business Awards, which this year have reached their twenty-third edition.
Along with Franco Furniture, ten other companies from both Andalusia and Extremadura have been distinguished.
The event, which had a reduced capacity and was also broadcast via streaming, was held on Friday, October 23 at the headquarters of the San Telmo Foundation, and was chaired by Miguel Rus Palacios, patron of the San Telmo Foundation and president of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Seville (CES); Francisco Javier Jerez Basurco, South Territorial Director of BBVA; and Isauro López Polo, member of the Board of Directors of San Telmo Business School.
Once the prizes were awarded, two videos were shown, in which the mayors of Malaga and Seville, Francisco de la Torre and Juan Espadas, congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of family businesses in Andalusia.
In its twenty-three editions, this award has been awarded to business families in the south of Spain, who over the years have demonstrated their effort to create social wealth. "Today, more than ever - the San Telmo Foundation has communicated - they deserve this recognition and the support of Andalusian society as promoters and conservatives of economic development."
All the awarded companies have been proposed by the different family businessmen that make up the BBVA Chair of Family Business of San Telmo Business School and its Advisory Council, considering them examples of Family Businesses.
The criteria analyzed by the jury to award this award are, among others: the family business tradition, the creation of companies in especially difficult environments, the desire to internationalize, diversify and innovate in the Family Business, the measures adopted to promote competitiveness of the company, the creation of social wealth, the adoption of measures that facilitate the continuity of the Family Business, etc.
